The Sound of Children Cooking!!!

I wanted to share with you that I recently completed two cooking classes at my children’s daycare.  We had so much fun.  The children (age 3 & 4) loved it.  They were engaged, contributing and their sounds of fun and joy were infectious.

Out of the two classes completed their favorite by far was the pizza class and even though there was lots of excitement about making sushi it came in as a close second!

As for the pizza class…. The children were excited about “choices” as I gave them several options for their ingredient choices. They loved discovering how the feel of the dough changed when they added some flour and how adding flour underneath kept the dough from sticking to the table.

During the sushi class they discovered how moistening the seaweed allowed them to seal the sushi roll.  They enjoyed learning how to roll the sushi securing the filling inside.

In summary… they all chimed in to ask, “When are you coming back?”, “Next time, can we do another pizza class?” Thank you “We had so much fun!”, “Can you come to my house to have a birthday party?”.

Overall, this is my passion to teach and share with children the thrill of cooking and contributing with meals. Teaching the classes was an absolute thrill. Have fun cooking with your children, may the experience bond you even more as a family!!!
